In this vessel, echoes of Cornwall’s ancient past meet the gentle rhythm of the modern maker’s hand. Turned from locally sourced birch and crowned with a lid of warm, deep-toned brown oak, the Kist-an-Teylu is as much a keeper of stories as it is of treasures.

The carved surface recalls the flow of tidal waters over a rugged shoreline, its rhythmic pattern inspired by the ever-moving ocean and the rippling sands of Cornwall’s north coast. The lid’s textured surface, painstakingly carved, reflects the grain of the moors under a shifting sky.

Hand-finished in seaweed-green milk paint and sealed with natural oils and beeswax, the container carries a soft, tactile feel, inviting daily use. A piece for safekeeping, its story grows with each precious object placed within.
