Hel Nanskelly Byghan "Little Hall of Antiquity"
Dimensions: Small tray
Material: Ash and quarter-sawn oak
Finish: Raw flaxseed oil

This tray shares its inspiration with King Arthur’s Hall, the mysterious Neolithic structure on Bodmin Moor recently revealed to be far older than previously thought. Made using a technique that harnesses the unique properties of green wood, the ash sides are carefully fitted to the quarter-sawn oak base, allowing the natural shrinkage of the wood to form a secure and enduring bond.

The medullary rays of the oak base ripple like patterns in ancient stone, while the gently curved sides give the tray a timeless, tactile appeal. Finished with raw flaxseed oil, this piece evokes the rugged textures and enduring beauty of Cornwall’s ancient landscapes.

A quiet reflection of history and craftsmanship, "Hel Nanskelly Byghan" serves as both a practical item and a tribute to Cornwall’s enigmatic past.
